It shields the springs and metal edges of the unit to create a softer surface all the way around and to ensure user do not get pinches and scrapes. It also protects the jumper from falling on the metal frame or getting hurt from the springs. The trampoline safety pad is specifically made to fit a backyard trampoline with a round frame and which contains durable, shock-adsorbent high-density closed-cell foam that will not absorb water and mildew or lose shape.
